Legacy of Colonial State in Africa

Trade relationship with other countries established many things for African societies including telegraph, railroad, and irrigation systems. Most of countries who were involved in this long distance relationship made sure that East African countries received most of the advantages from the new technology and industrialization. So I clearly disagree with the fact that long distance trade was destructive to East African countries .Their's enough evidence to suggest that long distance benefited East African countries .The first evidence is provided by the fact that in 1800 Zanzibar was already the principal centre of foreign trade along the East African coast, a meeting place for Arabs, Indians and Europeans interested in exchanging their products for those of the African mainland. Long distance trade was beneficial in one side and destructive in the other side .As stated by Bennet this long distance trade was destructive to African countries, during those time Africa was no getting what they deserve , an example is provided by the fact that those factory workers and servants who produced those goods which were traded with other countries received very low wages .…
