Anti-Semitism has been a part of our world in one way or another, whether you are a Jew yourself and have felt the stings of it, if you follow its doctrine or if you are one of the millions of people who feel deeply disturbed by its very perseverance. The term derives from the word anti; meaning against and the word Semite; meaning a member of any of the peoples supposed to be descended from Shem, Noah's son.
