Methodism's historical origins are sprung from one man's need to reach out to everyone. John Wesley, along with his brother Charles, wanted to provide something all people could find hope in, regardless of class (Tucker 8). John Wesley was a priest in the Church of England in the 1700's. Wesley was beginning an outbreak from the Anglican Church of England. The Methodist traditions, based on grace and service, had a warming and significant impact on England (Campbell 70).
