In the newspaper Diena 14th number1 author Gunita Nagle is published the article The Gold period of prehistory of the Semigallians in which she is inspected work of archaeologists in this summer and most important archaeological excavations. Among most important archaeological investigations in this summer she adduces archaeological excavations in cemetery Gaideļi-Viduči (headed by Guntis Zemītis - archaeologist of the Institute of the History of Latvia). During the last three excavation’s seasons in cemetery Gaideļi-Viduči the archaeologists are explored sixty nine burials which belong 7-10th century.
The earliest information about cemetery Gaideļi-Viduči is gained in the twenties years of the 20th century. In the nineties years of the 20th century there happened archaeological excavation headed by Juris Urtāns. Sadly that before archaeologists the cemetery was gained in the centre of attention of grabbers – many of burials are desolate. It is a factor which annoyed archaeological investigations.
