“The Great Gatsby”, the famous novel by Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, is in fact a
depiction of “old golden days” America experienced during the Great Depression and the
related phenomena like bootlegging, the new rich, and loose morals. The novel is built in
the form of narration by Nick Carraway who has the opportunity to have an insight into
the upper class life. He has moved to New York from Minnesota to learn here about the
bond business. He rents a house in West Egg district of Long Island next door to Jay
Gatsby, and after some time he is invited by Gatsby to one of his gorgeous parties. To his
frustration, here he encounters Jordan, the beautiful girl he has been introduced to by his
cousin Daisy and her husband Tom, while he believes his romantic relationship with
Jordan is based on pure love.…
