Women’s Representation in Politics

In my opinion, raised question about women’s representation in politics is a question, which is worth to discuss. Is politics just man’s game – andocracy instead of democracy? To my mind women’s representation in politics is necessary and there are arguments why women should participate.
Birgit Sauer has argued for seven explanations, why women are under-represented in politics. First, women are less politically interested in politics. Second, voters have conservative gender images. Third, the division of labor prevents women to be successful in politics as a job. Fourth, political structure of institutions is “masculine”.
