I choose book" Cell 7" by Kerry Drewery. Kerry Drewery is a Lincolnshire based author who writes for young adults. She’s had five books published. Her work has been shortlisted for the Leeds Book Awards, awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at the North East Teen Book Awards.
In my opinion story is both terrifying – and chillingly believable. Set in a not too distant future, it presents a society in which the notion of justice has become conflated with the false democracy of reality TV shows; judges and juries have been abolished, and those charged with serious crimes are at the mercy of a seven day, prime time process during which the general public is encouraged to call rate lines to decide if they are guilty or innocent. …
