Mesopotamia was an ancient region . Mesopotamia (from the Ancient Greek: Μεσοποταμία: "[land] between rivers“
Central Mesopotamia lay between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
This is the land which roughly comprises modern Iraq and part of Syria. 
The most ancient civilizations known to man first developed there writing, schools, libraries, agriculture, irrigation, farming and moved us from prehistory to history
Festivals
Ancient Mesopotamians had ceremonies each month. The theme of the rituals and festivals for each month is determined by six important factors (for example from the phase of the Moon) 
Music
Some songs were written for the gods but many were written to describe important events.
