Topography
The diverse topology of Rajasthan is gifted with infertile lands in the west and fertile terrains in the east.
The contour of Rajasthan is well divided by India’s oldest mountain range, Aravalli Range that runs across the state from the southwest to the northeast.
The Thar Desert or the Great Indian Desert is India’s largest and world’s 18th largest desert. Encompasses about 60% of total landmass of Rajasthan and hence it is identified as the "Desert State of India".

Climate
Rajasthan experiences a tropical desert climate. It remains extremely cold in the months of October to February while it bears the scorching heat of the sun from March to September.

The weather or climate of the Rajasthan can be broadly classified into four distinct seasons.
