In another sign of the difficult environment for traditional videogame machines, Nintendo Co. slashed sales forecasts for its new home console, the Wii U, earlier. After launching its first new home console in six years in November, Nintendo said Wii U sales disappointed during the holiday shopping season. The company is now forecasting plans to sell 4 million units versus an earlier estimate for 5.5 million units.
To sum up, the Sony PlayStation 4 is a well-designed, responsive and connected console that's geared up for a new level of gaming with a decidedly social slant. While the games outed to accompany its launch may not be as eye-poppingly impressive as hoped, we're still pretty sure that this console has a long and successful future ahead of it.
