About Volkswagen Beetle
The Volkswagen Beetle or Bug is a small family car.
Thanks to its distinctive shape and sound, and its reliability, it now enjoys a "cult" status.
The Beetle was in production from 1938 until 2003, interrupted only by the Second World War.
Over 21 million Beetles were produced.
Orginaly car name was simply the "Type 1" .
Car designer is Ferdinand Porsche.
The car was ordered by Hitler.
He gave instructions to the workers - "it should look like a beetle, you only have to look to nature to find out what true streamlining is."
Car slogan is : “It should look like a beetle, you only have to look to nature to find out what true streamlining is."
First 30 cars was made in
“Daimler-Benc" factory.
Production was suspended during the war years, but the New Beetle was introduced in 1998.
