Currently under construction in Dubai, Hydropolis will be the world's first luxury underwater hotel. It is self-acclaimed to be 10-star hotel. Hotel is located 20m below the surface of the Persian Gulf, in Dubai. It was due to open in 2006 but because of the delays it was scheduled to open 2009 and it is still not opened.
The hotel is designed by German architect Joachim Hauser.
It will include three elements: the land station, where guests will be welcomed, the connecting tunnel, which will transport people by train to the main area of the hotel, and the 220 suites within the jellyfish-shaped leisure complex. It is one of the largest contemporary construction projects in the world, covering an area of 260 hectares (26 km2), about the size of London's Hyde Park.
The price per night is US $5,500. The hotel itself is constructed from a combination of concrete, steel and clear Plexiglas. …
