Information Technologies for Educational Purpose
The main purpose of IT in education “means implementing IT Equipment and Tools in teaching and learning process as a media and methodology. The purpose of IT in education is generally to familiarise students with the use and workings of computers, and related social and ethical issues. IT has also enabled learning through Multiple Intelligence as IT has introduced learning through simulation games; this enables active learning through all senses” (Wikipedia).
In my words – IT for educational purpose can be everything that is connected with new technologies and is used in teaching and learning process to make it more effective, interesting and diverse. The IT tools and teaching aids can, first of all be computers, the Internet (websites, blogs…), interactive whiteboards, special educational programmes etc.; secondly – mobile phones, projectors, OHP, audio devices and other new technologies that have a major part not only in our daily use, but now also in the professional and educational use.
The school for teachers is their daily life, usual environment which they have to adjust very rapidly because of the changes that happen every day.…
In this paper I will look through the main points of what Information Technologies (IT) for educational purpose are, the influence of using new technologies in class work, the advantages and disadvantages of using such aids in lessons, as well as, possible effects on children education quality, IT as a pedagogical tool, not as an entertainment, and pedagogical way of teaching and learning using IT. Also, problems will be considered with using IT as a pedagogical tool – pupils do not know how to use IT for educational purpose; not all teachers are good enough at IT themselves; the changes in teaching environment when using IT as an educational tool; and the last – does IT improve teaching and learning process?
