The guy sitting in front of her was of uncertain age, one of those who looked like a young man just reached his majority but could as well be married, with three kids running round the backyard of a two-storey house somewhere in the neighbourhood. He was not wearing a ring, though. Yet, more closely observed, the fair face that was surrounded by an almost white mop of hair effused an unmistakable wit of life that a boy could hardly possess.
