In my opinion, the important thing that author represents in these 2 chapters is Holden`s helplessness. Rarely we all experience helplessness in our life. When we want something to be different, but that just is not in our hands. One example of helplessness that had devastating impact on Holden`s feelings was Allie`s death. When he smashed out the windows of garage it wasn`t about the physical but the inner pain. Another example is that Holden likes Jane, but he just can`t pull himself together or do something, because Stradler is more attractive, stronger and has better relationships with girls. …
