Pearl's wisdom and curiosity to learn about herself and about her parents are the few things she has to push herself through the unforgiving world of the Puritan society. Pearl has endured the hardships the society better than one might have expected. She gave hope to her mother throughout the torment they experienced, and helped Chillingsworth and Dimesdale to express their true feelings whether it was for good or for evil. Once the truth had finally been revealed to the town and to Pearl, Hester and Pearl took their inheritance and moved to live in a better place than Boston. A place that could really appreciate what Pearl had to offer, rather than to torment her because of her past.
