1. The author of the article hates Flash because there are essential security issues, it negatively affects battery life of a digital device (e.g., PC or smartphone). Also, it is considered inefficient, and it has no way of managing updates.
2. There were two disastrous events in the use of Flash. Firstly, it was the decision of video-hosting giant YouTube to stop delivering video content to users of modern browsers with Flash, using the cross-platform open standard HTML5 instead. Secondly, another giant – Google – disabled Flash-based advertising in Chrome Internet browser and developed a tool that let AdWords, its advertising platform, automatically convert advertisements created in Flash to HTML5 at once.
