“Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” is possibly Shakespeare's most excellent tragedy. It was written between the years, 1600-1601. (Online 2) “Hamlet” is beyond any doubt the most widely known play in the English language. The tragedy is a successful breakthrough in Shakespeare’s dramatic growth; the playwright achieved dramatic and at the same time elegant mentality in this work through his magnificent images of the characters’ struggle with two arguing dominances: moral uprightness and the urge to repay his father’s murder.
“Hamlet” begins with the death of Old King Hamlet, Father of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.
That is a bleak fact for Hamlet himself. Of course, it is not a suicide. In the play Shakespeare needed to come up with an evil character, a villain that desires success, and has the ability to get what he wants and whenever he wants. The character would also have to contain some good qualities, such as generosity and regret. These good qualities make the character seem more human. Claudius is the character described above. Without the appearance of Claudius, I would say that the play would lack its intrigue and development of events. The entire play revolves around what Claudius has done, or will do. …
