The study builds upon a theory of five cultural levels provided by Bath Consultancy Group (2011) which is a slightly broader variation of Edgar Schein’s (1997) model of cultural levels.
Corporate culture consists of a company’s employees that share the same views and goals in the name of a greater good for the company.
The aim of this paper is to research the concept of corporate culture, to analyse corporate culture of SIA “Veolia vides serviss” and to find evidence for five corporate cultural levels based on a model provided by Bath Consultancy Group (2011).
The hypothesis of the study is that SIA “Veolia vides serviss” is a culture that is strongly concerned with environmental protection.
To attain the above mentioned aim and prove the above mentioned hypothesis, the following objectives were set:
1. To do a literature review on the topic;
2. To analyse a monthly newspaper of the company;
3. To draw adequate conclusions.
The research methods employed in the paper are both theoretical and empirical. The theoretical methods include the literature review on the topic and drawing relevant conclusions. The empirical methods used to analyse the data is discourse analysis of a written monthly corporate newspaper “Spilves ielas republika” that consists of six pages.…
This paper investigates the concept of culture in general, and the concept of corporate culture in particular. The aim of the paper is to analyse corporate culture of SIA “Veolia vides serviss” and to find evidence for five corporate cultural levels based on a model of five cultural levels provided by Bath Consultancy Group (2011) which is a slightly broader variation of Edgar Schein’s (1997) model of cultural levels. The method used to analyse the data is discourse analysis. To explain the concepts of culture and corporate culture, literature on the topic has been reviewed and a corporate newspaper has been analysed. The results showed that the main characteristics of SIA “Veolia vides serviss” corporate culture are concerns for the environment, cleanliness, unity, and appreciation.
