• Many people do not have the knowledge of the Great Vowel Shift and how the
English language appears in its written form.
• Some words of 16th century English can be understood without the knowledge of
that period's peculiarities of language.
• It is possible that some participants have difficulties understanding Shakespeare's
works even though they know the features of the language that Shakespeare used in his works.
• Many people are not aware of the origin of some words in English and who
invented them.
• The meaning of some words of the Shakespearean English is easier to comprehend if the word is presented with context.
• Shakespeare's works do not seem to attract many readers of the age group of
17-20.
• The lesser similarities to the modern English, the worse understanding of the

The Peculiarities of English in 16th Century Shakespearean Time - Research Paper in English + Presentation There is no doubt that William Shakespeare is one of the true classics, even nowadays his works are used as compulsory literature and are taught about, not only specifically for English literature students. Because of the knowledge and understanding of the English language, William Shakespeare has acquired a stature of significance in English literature. The themes that Shakespeare touches are philosophical and that is what makes him relevant for everyone and throughout centuries always. “Not only was Shakespeare so well accomplished in his writing skills that he has become an undeniably significant point in the history of literature, but a majority of his works were written on such basic human themes that they will endure for all time and must not be allowed to slip into the tragic oblivion of old age.” (Jenson, Ashlee. 20 Aug. 2003.) Whilst Shakespeare has affected the English of modern day in numerous ways, the new generation lacks understanding of his inheritance, which contains various pecularities and suprising features of the language, because of that the author of the Research Paper decided to delve into this matter and research this specific subject.
