A nation is a population with a certain sense of itself, cohesiveness, a commonality of attitudes and ideals, and often a common language. In modern world the groups of common identities (sometimes one, sometime many nations) try to create the state. The state is a government structure, usually sovereign and powerful enough to enforce its writ.
The process of foundation of states started already in ancient world. Greeks, Arabs, later Vikings and other groups tried to create a common unit. These states mostly were based on geographical positions. In fourteenth century European kings began to claim their power and to tighten their control over large territories- states. But the invention of modern states has been completed in America (late 18th century) and in Europe from 1800 to 1815.…
