Review about a Film
The striking facts about the film are the absolutely astonishing scenes and the whole atmosphere of the film. The beautiful city of Manhattan is just some regular, normal everyday street), with people who are going through more than the side walker thinks they are. It is one of those movies about drugs that is neither terrifying nor extremely weird. It’s a raw and certainly eye-catching story about how drug abuse can take place when into the arms of those strong enough to get out and make something beautiful out of the deadly experience. Of course, the movie has a lot of holes that could be picked apart even bigger, however Leonardo di Caprio’s incredible performance makes it feel lifelike and gripping. The movie, of course, is a huge romanticision the whole experience, so watch at your own caution; however, to me It’s the one film I can’t get my eyes off even when rewatching for the umpteenth time.…
( The basketball diaries) Due to recent events, I was able to rewatch my all-time favorite movie – The basketball diaries. However, taking in the fact that now I have actually read the book, I can make a more accurate review for the 1995 movie directed by Scott Kalvert. The film is based on a book by Jim Caroll, who is the main character portrayed by Leonardo di Caprio. The movie takes place in Manhattan, New York, following young Jim, talented basketball player getting warped in the growing 1970s heroin scene, happening in New York, and losing all sense of his own potential due to heavy drug abuse.
