Summary of the 1st chapter
and your thoughts (in your
own words)
Nick decided to move to East and learn the bond business.
He lived in West egg, less fashionable of the two. One day
Nick visited his cousin Daisy and her husband Tom for
dinner. There he also meets Daisy’s friend Jordan Baker.
After dinner he wants to leave but can’t because he is
asked about his engagement, but Nick denied it. After
dinner he drives home and there, he sees Gatsby. He
wanted to call out to him, but he felt that Gatsby wanted
to be left alone.
In first chapter there was more of Nick life. I wanted more
of Gatsby, but I expect in next chapters to be there more
of him.…
