There were some of their personal friends in the group too , which made critical decisions even harder , as no one wans to leave a friend to die.
The problems in the team was mainly concentrated on the poor communication and bad trust in each other. As I mentioned the team was multi cultural and not all of the members could easily get along with each other and even the language barrier was high. Not all of the group was speaking English. The team was complete strangers , who had not met before , so it was hard to build trust in each other. As Krakauer said: “We were a team in name only, I’d sadly come to realize. Although in a few hours we would leave the camp as a group, we would ascend as individuals, linked to one another by neither rope nor any deep sense of loyalty. Each client was in it for himself or herself, pretty much.”
