Every effective marketing plan will be built upon the premise of readily attainable goals, specific marketing objectives, and a method of implementation. Each of these attributes is a result of effective market research. There is no single best marketing plan for all situations. The environment and demographics may be different, the situation and timing may be inappropriate, and all factors can change during the course of the research of the implementation of the marketing plan. It is best to establish and follow a roadmap of (a) identifying a target audience, (b) listening to the experts, (c) provide customer value, and (d) establish and maintain customer loyalty. However, be prepared to navigate around trouble. A key component of any marketing plan is the ability to recognize when results begin to waver from forecasts, and determine the appropriate time to take corrective action.
