Human rights are universal, undividable and mutually dependent and are the central elements of the European Union's human rights policies. These policies were developed to emphasize that all around the world and particularly in the European Union human rights are an integral part in sustaining harmony, protection, financial advancement and societal justice. For that reason, the European Union protects and encourages the rising development for integrating the endorsement of human rights, social equality and the endorsement of harmony and protection in the European Union and globally.
The European Union protects and encourages these principles by developing and following the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and its corresponding International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The Union’s actions are also derived from the most important global and regional appliances for the protection of human rights, as well as the European Convention on Human Rights. These tools protect general principles concerning primary liberties and egalitarian values, which are world widely undividable and mutually dependent.
