Conflict is ‘a process that begins when an individual or group perceives differences and opposition between itself and another individual or group about interests and resources, beliefs, values, or practices that matter to them’ (DiGirolamo, n.d.). There are many types of conflicts that can arise in organizations, the basic three being economic, value and power conflicts. As conflicts are inevitable, organizations should focus on conflict management.
The goal of this paper is to study interpersonal communication in organizations and determine the main causes as well as strategies for resolving conflicts in organizations.
The enabling objectives to achieve the goal are:
to analyze theories on interpersonal communication and conflicts in organizations
to apply these theories for the purpose of the paper;
to summarize findings and draw relevant conclusions.…
The purpose of this paper is to study interpersonal communication in organizations and determine the main causes as well as strategies for resolving conflicts in organizations. The methods of this study include desk research that consists of analysing the available literature on interpersonal communication, organizations and conflicts. As the result, authors’ findings show that interpersonal communication in organizations is a complicated process and conflicts are inevitable, thus organizations should focus on effective conflict management strategies. Šī darba mērķis ir pētīt starppersonu komunikāciju organizācijās un noteikt konfliktu galvenos cēloņus un to risināšanas stratēģijas. Šajā darbā ir izmantota pētnieciskā metode un analizēta pieejamā literatūra par starppersonu komunikāciju, organizācijām un konfliktiem. Darba rezultātā autores ir secinājušas, ka starppersonu komunikācija organizācijās ir sarežģīts process un konflikti ir nenovēršami, tāpēc organizācijām vajadzētu pievērst vairāk uzmanības efektīvām konfliktu risināšanas stratēģijām.
