One such example is Fayol's principle of subordination of individual interests of the organisation. This implies that the goals of the organisation must take precedence over the interests of individuals in the organisation. NJC's teachers are a very committed and dedicated in their job. We, as students, often see them staying late into the night just to help out the weaker students and to mark assignments. This can be seen as taking NJC's interest over their own. However, while this is ultimately true, the teachers themselves stand to benefit in the long run. When their students perform well in examinations, they will be put in good light and it may affect the way their superiors look at them. As a result, their chances of promotion becomes greater. So while it may seem that they have put the organisation's interest ahead initially, they too will benefit in the long run. …
